Paige, Abigail, Joseph, Susanna, and I returned to Mwanza for our second term. I was very hopeful on what would happen during that second term as our objectives were clear. God had given us a desire to:
1.) Continue preaching and teaching the Word of God,
2.) Construct a building for the glory of God, and
3.) Create a Bible Institute to train the people of God.
As we continued preaching and teaching the Word of God, He gave the increase and our church attendance in Ibungilo rose from 30 in 2000 to 125 in 2004. The LORD enabled us to erect a church building in Ibungilo which is 36’ x 72’. This building provides a beautiful and spacious area for the Tanzanian believers to worship. We are mentoring Tanzanian believers in the fundamentals of faith, Baptist distinctives, and sacrificial service through the ministry of LAKE VICTORIA BAPTIST COLLEGE. There are currently 35 students enrolled.
The future for the Baptist International Mission of Tanzania is one of great prospects. The LORD is adding to the team spirit as other men and women are committing their lives to this needy nation. One of these men is Brother BJ Schultz. He is currently on deputation as a BIMI missionary to Tanzania and has 83% of his needed support. Andrew Hallman, who was a 2005 intern, is making plans on being in Tanzania by 2010. Praise the LORD!
What does the future hold for YOU in Tanzania? I would like to let you know that there are many opportunities for support and service in this land. Some of the ways you could help would be…
Coming to assist us in a church planning project
Coming to work in a youth rally or Camp Harvest
Coming to build a church building, dormitory, or some other structure
Coming to preach and teach to our Bible College students
Coming to minister medically
Coming to attend our college student internship program
Supporting a BIMI missionary to Tanzania
Praying fervently for the work
Becoming the next BIMI candidate to Tanzania!
God has opened the hearts of the people of Tanzania. He has made a way for us in Tanzania. Together… in Tanzania… much could be accomplished for today… and eternity. What role will you play in the team spirit of BIMI in Tanzania?
