Help us make a new website, pt 2

I recently asked if there were any people who could help us with redesigning our website. I mentioned that we are using Movable Type for our blogging software. Since talking to a few web-savvy people I have been convinced that changing our blogging software to Word Press would be much better for us. The Word Press blogging software is apparently easier to work with and thus there are many more web designers out there who have already made many templates available at reasonable prices.

If you are one of those Word Press designers and would like to help us with a simple redesign, we would welcome your help.

Let me know!

You can help us begin a new church in Tanzania

Many times we get emails from people who ask, “what can we do to help you with your ministry of missions?” The number one answer of course, is prayer. As you pray for God to meet our needs and help us to get churches planted, He may answer that prayer by using you. Perhaps God will enable you to meet that need!

From time to time I will list projects on our website that we are working on so that you may know exactly what is needed. Our first project is also our first new church plant in the city of Boma Ngombe, Tanzania Africa.

Project:
New Church Plant: Boma Ngombe

The funds to buy a piece of property have already been supplied!

Website Help Wanted

I have been doing a lot of reading and studying pertaining to website building, HTML, and CSS because I want to give our blog a face-lift. It needs some minor updates and a good amount of layout coding. I have a good idea of what I want this site to look like but I have no idea how and even less time to do it. My studying has shown me that HTML and CSS are for the experts. I'll stick with studying Swahili, the Bible and preaching.

I have asked around, and a few designers have given me prices for their services. I am sure they are worth every penny, but their services are VERY expensive.

If you know how to work with Movable Type 3.3 and would like to volunteer (or sell at an incredibly low cost) some of your talent, we would welcome the help.

Every minute you spend helping us with the site allows me to spend hours doing the work of the ministry.

Leave a comment here or email me if you would like to help.

How can you use this website?

Recently, I received 2 letters from Wednesday night Kid's club teachers. One told me that she was reading some of my entries to her kids class and the kids really enjoyed learning about Tanzania. The other teacher has planned to present 1 missionary each month to the King's Kids class and would use some of the things I have written to help her.

Wow! What a great idea. Why didn't I think of this before? This blog could be used as a great teaching tool- especially for the children's and teens classes.

I am sure there are many things that could be covered that I have missed. With only 1 year experience so far, I have much to learn before I can cover it. However, I would love the opportunity to assist you as you teach on missions. What I need from you is a little advice on what you would like me to write about.

German Shepard guard dog

We are interested in purchasing some German Shepard pups in the next few weeks. I am looking for some good resources for training them. If you know any good books or web-sites or have some hands on experience I would welcome any and all advice.

Recently, we have been made aware of several incidents of vicious attacks. On the other side of the large compound in which we live, 4 men climb over the fence and began to steal some corrugated sheet metal. A security guard saw one of the men and approached him. While they spoke the other 3 jumped out of hiding and began to attack him with machetes. He was rushed to a hospital and has some severe damage to his hands but he will recover in time. This and other incidents which have taken place within walking distance of our home have urged me to get a guard dog soon.

I have faith that God will protect us completely, but he may choose to employ one of these dogs to do the protecting.
