Random ramblings

Last Friday I moved to another friend's house, Doris Ritzius, a fellow teacher at LCCA. Last night we pulled out the hose and washed our cars!! Yee-haw! Why is it so refreshing to have a clean car? I guess when there's three layers of splattered bugs, it's time! ...but I'm traveling 6 hrs to PA tomorrow, so it won't be clean for long. :-(

Last weekend I traveled to Niles, OH (NE near Youngstown) to the First Baptist Church of Niles. The building was built in the 40s and the church was started in 1980!! WOW!! Praise the Lord for faithful men in the past and faithful men today who stick to the unaltered truth of God's Word! It was an honor to stay with Pastor & Mrs. Ben Reed. Once again, I was sufficiently spoiled! Wonderful food and fellowship, and even a shopping spree in the missionary closet! :-)

I also found out some exciting news- I'm going to be an aunt again! :-) Both sisters-in-law are expecting in February '08. Our family is growing fast!! :-)

First goal met!!

Yee-haw!!! My first prayer goal of 22% by July 1st was reached!! Praise the Lord!!! Thank you to everyone who are praying and giving!!!!! God is truly carrying me through this adventure! I can't wait to see what He'll do in Tanzania, for it is so evident that He wants me there!!!

My next prayer goal is 44% by October 1st. I'm actually at 24% now! My ultimate goal is to move to TZ next summer, possibly traveling with the Brouwers who are returning to TZ from furlough July '08. I know many times the Lord's plans are different though and am trusting Him for His perfect timing.

I've been in 26 churches so far, with 38 more scheduled! :-)

Madison, OH

Last weekend, I traveled 3 hours to Madison, OH just NE of Cleveland. What a treat to spend two nights with Pastor Chris Anderson and his family. God is doing exciting things at Tri-County Bible Church! It was an honor to be there not just to share about Tanzania, but to meet others committed to our wonderful Lord! There truly is sweet fellowship in the gospel (Phil 1:5). Pastor Chris's message on the Great Commission pierced my heart! Is getting the gospel out dominating my life? Not just once a week, or a few tracts here and there...but the all-consuming passion of each hour of each day!?!...and not out of duty either, but out of love for my Savior?!? "Revive us again, Oh Father!"

God's amazing creation!

I've been taking an online class on the creation/evolution debate. Did you know that there are 1 million atoms in the thickness of a piece of paper?!?!...and scientists still don't know how an atom stays together! I know... God's mighty power!! How could such intricate details like atoms and cells and immune systems have evolved out of chaos, the so-called "primordial soup"? I just finished Henry Morris's book, The Long War Against God, which details the long history of evolution, even going back to Ionian philosophers in 600 B.C.!! Evolution is not some recent discovery by highly trained scientists, but a LIE weaved into our belief system by Satan over all of human history!! But...no, no, he'll not win! God will soon get full credit for His glorious creation!!

As I was studying last week, look what wanders by the back window... :-)
