More prayer requests

Thank you to all who are praying!!
*Camp went very well!! Please pray for those who got saved and made decisions last week about keeping a clean conscience or surrendering their life to the Lord. With God's grace, none of those decisions will fall into the "just a camp decision" category!!!
*I'm thankful for a few weeks off now. Please pray for lots of contacts made with pastors and that my schedule from November 2007 to May 2008 would fill up with meetings that the Lord wants me to have!
*My support level goal is 22% by July 1st. I'm not quite sure where I stand (not sure if some gifts are monthly or not). If I haven't made it... then I'm very close. ($20 close!) :-) Bwana asifiwe!! (Praise the Lord!)

Last Sunday

What a joy to get to share in two churches last Sunday. At New Lexington Bible Church, Pastor Chris Brown, I saw several familiar faces that I wasn't expecting to see. :-) Three families that attend there have kids at LCCA, the Christian school in which I used to teach (how's that for correct preposition placement, Mr. West.) I also saw several familiar faces from our rival school- (the enemy!- ZCS) :-) We had a good time in junior church reviewing some ways we can obey the greatest commandment!

In the evening service, I traveled to Ostrander, OH near Delaware to Millcreek Baptist Church, Pastor Pat Bruce. With the vacation season upon us, it was a small crowd, but still a sweet time of fellowship! Praise the Lord for churches with a heart for missions!!

Camp in Caldwell

Pine Lake Camp.jpg
With no pine trees and no lake, this camp should be called Pine-less, Lake-less Camp! :-) They're digging a new lake though! Next year will be a different story! :-)

Pine Lake Camp

What fun to go back to camp!! Last week I enjoyed working with Pastor Gary Jacobs of First Baptist Church of Caldwell, OH and a puppet team from Cedarville University. We had 53 campers for junior week (ages 8-12) at Pine Lake Camp. The puppet team were the counselors and did the evening services, while I got to teach the morning chapels. I enjoyed showing slides of Tanzania each day, teaching the campers some Swahili, and giving a challenge from God's Word. I taught four lessons: "God is never to busy for me," "I need God's righteousness," "God doesn't make junk!" and "God is looking for clean hearts." What an honor to be used by the King of kings!!! 10-12 campers got saved and many made decisions for the Lord. Some of the major decisions in my life, I made while at camp. I was reminded again that we are simply the product of how others have invested in our lives. What a treat to do some "investing" myself. :-)

Prayer requests

Thank you to all who are praying!! Here's some specific requests to bring before the Lord:

* that I'll be Spirit-filled as I share in each church, that He would increase and I would decrease!!
* opportunities and boldness to witness
* a partner/ roommate in Tanzania
* the last 1.5% to be raised to reach my goal of 22% by July 1st
* that I'll be a gracious guest in each home
* more meetings scheduled for winter and spring 2008
* 100% by July 2008
* safety on the roads
* junior camp next week: pray for the 40-50 8-11 yr olds at Pine Lake Camp. Pray that the Lord would direct my words in morning chapels and the puppet team in the evenings. This is the perfect age for hearts to be tender toward God's call to salvation, surrender, and full-time service! Please, Lord, work mightily in hearts!!!!!

Rich friendships

Last week, I spent a week at the BIMI headquarters in Chattanooga, TN. That place is full of wonderful servant leaders!! What an honor to be a part of a mission board led by humble servants of the King!! Most of them have been on the field themselves many years and all of them would bend over backwards if needed for their missionaries. We had a great week of training and preaching and fellowship- a precious spiritual retreat!!

Last Saturday I drove north to Newark, OH. Wow, it's great to be back in Ohio!! It's great to see so many friends again at the Newark Baptist Temple! Praise the Lord for the faithful leadership of Pastor James Dennis and the godly role model of his wonderful wife... Happy 60th Birthday, Mrs. Dennis!! :-)

I also got to visit another church that has supported me from the beginning. Crossroads Baptist Church in Pataskala, OH. What fun to see the growth of this brand new church and their new storefront location. Praise the Lord for Pastor Tim Sowards!

Back on the road again!

The end of May I left for 6 months of traveling in the Midwest. What fun to travel from Colorado Springs, CO to Chattanooga, TN with a friend. Becky Pope, also a BIMI missionary (nurse heading to the Ivory Coast), and I headed to the BIMI headquarters for a week of training. We stayed with Pastor Day and his family at the "Day's Inn" in Salina, KS then camped the second night near Peducah, KY. Becky and I had such fun staying together on the road with walkie-talkies. We even tried tossing string cheese between vehicles at 70mph...can you guess if that worked? :-)
