March meetings

March has been a wonderfully full month!! The first two Sundays, I took day trips up to Denver and nearby towns. The last two weeks I've been on the "western slope" of Colorado, on the west side of the Rocky Mountains.

Mar. 4- youth groups of Master's Hand and McCarroll Bible churches
Mar.11- Fellowship Bible Church; Pastor Dave Kummer; Edgwater, CO
- High Plains Independent Baptist Church; Pastor Jonathan Shore; Milliken, CO
Mar.18- Pear Park Baptist Church; Pastor Randy David; Grand Junction, CO
Mar.21- Victory Baptist Church; Pastor Jim Welch; Montrose, CO
Mar.25- Grace Bible Church; Pastor Loyal May; Collbran, CO
- Green River Bible Church; Pastor Kirk Dunham; Green River, UT
Mar.28- Garnet Mesa Baptist Church; Pastor Richard Neale; Delta, CO

I am so grateful to each of these pastors and churches for allowing me to come!! Each pastor and church is unique, yet being used by God where He has planted them. I'm learning a lot as I observe and ask questions and get involved. Please pray with me for safety as I travel (especially Thurs, Mar29th as I drive the 5 hours back home). Also, pray that I would recognize and grab up every opportunity the Lord gives for each day to learn and serve.

One month later

Well...one month later. Someone's probably wondering- What happened to Lisa!! ...on the other hand, I'm wondering- What happened to the last 4 weeks?? Days are flying by as I'm getting used to this new life of deputation: calling churches/ sending out information/ re-calling churches/ setting up meetings/ traveling/ talking about Tanzania/ teaching children/ meeting people. And now you know my life! :-)

Many people I talk to, say to me, "The Lord bless you!" I think (and sometimes say), "He is!! Everday!!" One of the big fears I had of starting this journey in missions was attempting to raise support, especially alone! But, wow, have I been rebuked. We so often worry about things that will never happen, don't we?! :-) I have had great fun so far meeting people, sharing in churches, teaching children, seeing new places, "ministry" eating, and even "ministry" shopping!! (It's very important to eat what your served, isn't it? and spending time building relationships- which sometimes requires shopping!! :-)) This verifies the truth that what God calls you to do, you will fully enjoy!! Where in Scripture does it say Christians should be just a little solemn and somber and maybe even dejected? Where is that "life and life more abundantly" that Jesus came to give!?!

This is also diminishing my worries of the future- living in Africa: what will happen? how will I live? will I get fluent in Swahili? and on and on. God has called me to Tanzania... Where else could I possibly be happier than in the center of His will?
