Loads of blessings

The Lord has provided my first missions conference! I'm scheduled to represent Tanzania at Central Baptist Church in Greeneville, TN in September. Praise the Lord! God is starting to make things happen!

A couple friends have also told me they would like to start supporting me. One family had me over for dinner last night. They want their three children to pray for a missionary that they know first hand!

I'm spending lots of hours now sending out packets of information and calling pastors. Getting started was a bit of a hurdle, but I'm discovering- what better group of people to talk to than pastors? Many have already been a great encouragement. One talked with me for a half an hour giving suggestions and encouragement and prayed with me at the end of the conversation!

As one writer put, "Don't feel sorry for missionaries! They have their problems it is true, and, because the problems are different sometimes from yours, you think they are worse. But they also have unique opportunities to prove God and that deep everlasting peace that only comes from being quite obedient to God." (Who'd Stay a Missionary? by Helen Morgan)

My Fourth Meeting! :-)

I shared in my old church home, Calvary Bible Church, this Sunday. The snow kept a few people away, but still God blessed with a great service. Pastor Pat, my old youth pastor, preached on the sovereignty of God from Psalm 145. Such comfort it brings to rest in the knowledge that our God is in control of EVERYTHING!...AND He is good.

Going to Calvary brought back many memories of youth group skits, games, and youth choir. Sunday School was a series in systematic theology! Thank you, Lord, for grounding me thoroughly in You in my teen years. "To whom much has been given, much more shall be required."

Whew! I recently bought an armload of adapters to connect my projector to the sound systems of churches. What a relief...it worked! :-) PTL!

Snow! Snow! Snow!

What a blessing! The year I move back to Colorado we get four snow storms in a row! I LOVE snow...but if I have to shovel a long gravel driveway one more time I might start changing my mind! The thought of no snow in Tanzania is not as "depressing" a thought anymore. :-) It really has been a long time since Colorado Springs has seen this much snow. Thank you, Lord!!

The last few weeks I've been enjoying the holiday season with family and animals (house-sat for my brother with his three horses, three dogs, a peacock, and a very noisy barn cat.)

I also met with Greg Wagoner and his daughter who were in Colorado for a weekend. Good to see you again Bro. Greg and Abigail!

The time has come! All my materials are ready! I've been calling pastors and sending out information packets. I also have a meeting this Sunday at Calvary Bible Church- it will be fun to go back to the church I grew up in. :-) I'm still studying Swahili with my neighbor and also started an evening class- Biblical Manners and Customs.

A quick thanks is due to Pastor Jeff Anderson- Thank you for all your help and guidance the past few months. Thank you also, Bro Greg, for prodding me forward...and thank you, Newark Baptist Temple and Crossroads Baptist Church, for your generous love offerings! Through you God has provided just what I've needed to get started on deputation! PTL!!
