Hallelujah!

Hallelujah is all I can say!!!! Our first Sunday in Fumagira after returning from our trip to Kenya was a tremendous blessing to say the least. We had 251 in attendance in our morning worship service. Our normal attendance had been around 180-190 the last several weeks before our visit to Kenya.

What was the cause of such a dramatic increase in attendance? It was a special revival meeting that our church had while we were in Kenya. The church invited Pastor John from Bariari to preach this meeting. They had an outdoor service every evening from Monday through Saturday. The meetings were held on the church property, but outside of the church auditorium due to the large crowds. We were told that around 60 people made the decision to receive Christ as Savior during the six-day meeting. Over 30 of these have made this decision public and are desiring to follow the Lord in believer's baptism. There were many people in the service today that I did not recognize. Pele, our assistant pastor, told me that many of these people were those who had gotten saved during the revival meeting. I don't know exactly what to say, but God in His sovereign grace has decided to bless this village church in a great way. We are just praying and trying to stay out of God's way as He works in and through this church.

Home Again!

Our family is back from our time in Kenya. What a blessing it was to take a break from our work here and get some R & R! Our first week was spent in Nairobi. Mom and Dad got to spend 4 wonderful days alone while Tim, Jon, and Abby attended IBMK (Independent Baptist Missionary Kamp) in Thika. For the kids it was a time of Bible, fun, and fellowship. We are so thankful for the Stamper family who puts so much effort into making this a wonderful experience for our children. There were 21 campers and 1641 verses said during the week!

The second week found us back in Nakuru where we served for several years. Tammy had the opportunity to teach the ladies of Faith Baptist Church at their monthly Ladies Meeting. What a joy it was for her to see these precious ladies she grew so fond of during our time at FBC. This was also her first time teaching ladies in Swahili! Bill then preached on Sunday at FBC. He also preached in Swahili. We were encouraged to see how the Lord has blessed this church since we left one year ago!

We arrived home in Mwanza, Tanzania Thursday night. It's always nice to get away and get refreshed. Now we are home and ready to get back to work!
