The Brouwer Family

Please pray for an elderly man that has been visiting our church faithfully for the last couple of weeks. He is deaf and dumb, and we really don't know how to help him. We want to get to know him, and we also want to communicate the Gospel to him. Since it does not appear he knows sign language, we are thinking about using pictures to communicate the Gospel to him. Pray that God would give us wisdom in knowing how to minister to this dear man. We appreciate so much your prayers for our ministry here.

We made a change in Children's Church this morning. Because of the amount of children we have been having every week and also because of the age span (from 3 yrs. To 12 yrs.), we thought it best to have two children's church services. This morning the regular children's workers took the children 7 yrs. and younger, and my family and I took the older children. It helped having the kids split up into these age groups. It will also really benefit our family to have a ministry that we can do together. Our children have been trying to learn Swahili, and this will certainly help them as they have a chance to work in children's church. It will also give my wife a chance to use her Swahili as she taught the Bible lesson today. She did an excellent job. Eventually, I would like to allow our oldest son, Tim, to teach once his Swahili is at a point where he is able. We would really appreciate your continued prayers for us as we seek to know the language better.
